This is a question for experienced Melleri owners, as this issue is pretty species-specific.
Hercules and Megana are still copulating pretty regularly. Of course, this is good news. My question, however, is how do I gauge the length of gestation? Do I measure from the first time? Or the last time? We do, fortunately, know when they first mated. She had breeding scratches all over her and I had never seen even one such mark on her before that day. Now she has them all the time because they "do it" pretty often.
She has her birthing bin, with a nice branch going down into it. So, I don't think that will be a problem. Just don't know how to determine gestation length, or how long it should go before I become concerned and/or intervene.
