How to fix your Quad light fixture from lightyourreptiles

Send Todd an E-mail. That's all, and you thought this was going to be a long OldChamkeeper thread.

One of my Tropic Blaze quad fixtures was having the lights flicker. Taking it apart was not hard, just unplug it first. After replacing the ballasts which came out fairly easy the thing works fine. Todd was very helpful in obtaining the parts. There may be cheaper places out there to buy lights from but, and for those of you new to keeping Chameleons, you won't find anybody more helpful when it comes to getting the right lights for your new hobby. If you go cheap on your lighting (you can go cheap on a number of other things) you are just screwing over your chameleon. Lighting is the most expensive part of owning a chameleon, and Todd is the guy to throw your money at.

I can’t agree more. When I first ordered my quad fixture, my UVB bulb(the expensive one) went out almost immediately, I sent out an email to Todd explaining my situation, and within 3 days he shipped a new one, free of charge. The equipment sold at lightyourreptiles.com is high quality, and their service is even better.

I am glad you had a good experience! As you mentioned, the same fixtures (brand name and all) can be purchased for quite a bit cheaper elsewhere. Interesting how we are often willing to pay more for respectful service!

Customer service is most important to me as well. I have had great experience with Todd and lightyourreptiles.com. I have the old style sockets which crack over time. Todd has been real helpful sending replacement parts and answering questions. The Acadia bulbs he sells are of the highest quality imho.

As a person who has kept reptiles for over 40 years, back in the dark days when even the books were useless and there was no such thing as the internet, finding information on lighting and how it affects the animals was near impossible a thing to do.

So, finding somebody like Todd with his excellent customer service and deep knowledge of the subject is worth a few extra bucks. Those who think otherwise will only waste their money on dead lizards by trying to go cheap on their lights.
