How to clean plants?

I just got a new plant from Home Depot today, and I thought it'd be a good idea to clean it. How do you clean your plants?

I get my plants from HD and Lowes too. I clean/wash them all with Dawn Dishwashing Liquid... If you can do it outside it's much less messy!!! After doing a fair amount of soaping up each leaf the best that I can, I rinse the entire plant until I feel like the soap is gone... Sometimes I then will leave the ant outside exposed to the elements,,, weather permitting!
I figure if it's safe enough to us on the "oil spill animals" it's safe enough for my guys!!! I've never had any issues with it!!!

I don't think you should use this as your example. What you're saying is, "If it is good enough to clean a toxic liquid off an animal that will definitely die without it, it is good enough for my guys."

However, I do agree with the method of cleaning the plant, just not the logic behind it.:D

I use the same method as Lisa. Because yes if it is good enough to use on animals covered in toxic chemicals it is good enough to remove toxins from the plants I use.

I do as well. I do it to my chams plants and my orchids too before they come inside for the winter. A weak dawn soapy solution works really well!
