How much/often to feed?

Well my male Veiled is around 7-8 months old now. I've noticed he is starting to eat less. I'm wondering about how much I should feed him. Should I start feeding him every other day now? He eats medium sized crickets.

A lot of members feed their males every other day, because when they get older they don't each as much. Are you only feeding crickets.? If so, he might also be on a food strike. Order some different feeders and see if he will eat those. Some great ones are butter worms, silk worms, horn worms, repti/calci/phoenix worms, mantids, or the infamous roaches.

i would still feed everyday. Like a variety of 10 feeders or so a day.

My veiled is almost 6 months old but he already eats less. The worst thing is he seems to become a picky eater and he doesn't show any interest to cricket recently.

Yes he gets variety. His staple diet is mostly crickets. I was a little worried about a hunger strike once I started to notice it. He was recently moved into his adult cage, so he's had some changes recently. I noticed he is more enticed to eat if I'm sitting. The tip of his is cage is about 6 feet off of the ground, and I was pretty much eye level with him when he ate. So now I lower my body and lift the cup higher, although that sucks for my arm. He's been cup feeding (with me holding it) since he was a baby. I'm actually in the process of making a cup for him to eat without me holding it. All I have to do is hang it up tomorrow. So we'll see how that goes.

Once his mister (broken) gets replaced, I'm going to order more feeders online. I live in a small town, and the only "variety" pet stores carry are meal/wax worms. Luckily I can catch our state's Reptile Expo every other month to get what I need. I've really wanted to get some Phoenix worms for him. Bodhi tried roaches as a baby, he turned dark/metallic green and wouldn't eat another since. It was like a baby eating a lemon. Haha. He is also a huge veggie eater. I would be more worried if that boy didn't love his greens. I swear he actually likes his vegetables more than his insects. If the vegetables moved, he wouldn't know what to do with himself. Lol.

So should I just keep feeding him everyday for however much he will eat? He has a little bit of a belly on him. Some days he will only eat about 7-8 in one sitting, and others (like today) he will eat 10-11. This is opposed to the 15+ he would eat just a few weeks ago. He went nuts when I let a couple loose today. So I'm positive this new feeder cup will do wonders. Basically, what age (average age) do they start to eat every other day? Is it around 7 months.. or 1 year?

Many people say cham should feed every other day after it is an year old.

Once they near adulthood they grow slower by a ton! And thus dont need as much food. I prefer less a day everydAY as opposed to more every otherday. But he'll tell u wat he wants in his own way just watch him. Variety is good and feed ur feeders a variety. Make it more interesting

Thank you! Exactly the answer I was looking for. My feeders mainly get Cricket Crack. I will switch it up and give them another recipe made by Repashy. I have my own wet concoction with 18 ingredients, but I haven't used that in a while. I can't really get the things they go nuts for (such as bee pollen) so they don't care as much about my mix. Do you guys know of any cheap/nice feeder establishments to order from? I live in KY so the West Coast probably won't help shipping wise.

Oh and by the way, Bodhi tried his new feeder cup today! He ate every single cricket. I put it in his cage while he was still in there. He doesn't like change, so he had to shoot his tongue at it ten times. Once I put the crickets in, he figured out it's purpose. I'll post pics later so you can check it out.
