I know that eating can be off for the first 2 weeks. Wondering when they start to eat more normally. I’ve had him since 2-11 and he does not eat the same amount daily. Some days it’s 5 some days 1 and other days none. I feed BSFL, Silkworms, treats - hornworms and waxworms. Everything in his enclosure is how it’s supposed to be. He is a spicy baby so I do not handle him. Any tips or suggestions? Wondering when I should become worried.

Very handsome guy you have. 🥰 He should be eating regularly. Have you noticed if it’s any particular feeder that he is refusing or showing a preference for? For some chams, roaches can be an acquired taste. For others, they get hooked on the treat bugs and try to train us to give only the good stuff. 😁 If basking temps are good (between 80-85F), your uvb is new and reliable (Arcadia or ReptiSun and not an off brand), I would suggest a vet visit to get a fecal check for parasites.

He doesn’t seem to care very much for any of them. Basking is good and uvb is new.

Have you put crickets on the menu? Locust too?
My veiled went to many phases growing up to not eat much. Not sure if getting older was the factor. Or combination of that and being bored of food offering. I have notice chameleons can get bored of offering same food menu often. Other times they can show mood of specific insects they would like. My Veiled love super worms initially when I bought him. But now it definitely hornworms.

I have not tried crickets. I hear they are terrible to keep alive and smell terrible.

Crickets can smell, but I would add them in the circulation. Especially if locust would be hard to find. You might find your chameleon back at eating regularly.

I’ve only had him for 2 weeks and I know they tend to have lower appetites due to stress and change. Not sure what his normal is.
