A few hours or less is how long it generally takes a young chameleon.
As they mature they can start to shed only certain areas at a time and the whole process can take days or even weeks.
They don't shed as often when they become adults but they never stop shedding.
They never stop growing either....chameleons (like most reptiles) continue to grow their entire lives.

He has most likely reached sexual maturity at this point.
12 to 18 months will mark the completion of his rapid growth, but (as previously mentioned) he will continue to grow throughout his life.
