Hi everyone.
New here.. been doing a TON of research on here, books etc about Panther Chameleons.
One set of my chams mated about 3 weeks ago. I found her this morning Digging a hole in her bucket. I am assuming she is getting ready to lay. It's her first clutch she will be laying.
I understand it may take a few digs before she finds the right hole.

How long can the eggs stay in the bucket of dirt till I put them in the hovabator?? I am scared I may be away from her for 24 hours Sunday to Monday. I have someone who comes and feeds and mists them for me. I just don't want something to happen to the eggs while I am away, and I also don't want to put that responsability on someone else.

I have read the eggs can stay two days max in the dirt.. is this true??
Any help or input would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance everyone.

I think you'll be okay. I believe it will depend somewhat on the moisture level within the sand/dirt. Too much water may swell the eggs overly, too little and they may dry out. But, likely if she is able to dig a tunnel successfully, the eggs will be fine until you get home.
