How do you water your crickets?

I use leafy vegatables which contain a lot of water and cricket aid from Timberline (got a free package from the daytona show). The cricket aid serves as both a gutload and water for the crickets. Those along with some cricket crack provides for a perfect gutload and hydration source for the crickets.

Cheap, easy, disposable,...

3. Stuff with tissue paper,..

4. Fill bottle half full and set cut base on top of it like so,..

Here’s two ideas for you that I use, first in a smaller bin and second if you have room for it:
First, use a cap from a plastic bottle for a base and hot glue a little circle of plastic window screen.

Makes a simple cup for water crystals they can slurp through the screen or climb all over. I re-wet it with a squirt bottle, just shoot a couple of pumps into it to rehydrate every couple of days. Water crystals hold the moisture, the water does not drip out of them through screen.

Second idea, I use these for green banana roaches and crickets, I make a tube of plastic window screen and hot glue it right through a small plastic tub, then fill the tub with water crystals. Makes a moist cool cave for them to crawl through. Best thing with these is no spills.

i use the water gel for crickets :) just bought some yesterday because i finally broke down and going to keep some crickets for Rango.

Has anyone ever used unflavored jello for a water source for crix?

What does Jell-o do when you leave it out of the refrigerator for too long?,.. It would be great if this worked. But unfortunately it melts into a sticky goo.

I never had it turn to a sticky goo, but then again I never leave jello out for more than a few hours tops.

One thing with the gel tub with the tube, with my Green Banana roaches they lay eggs in the gel inside the tube and the little nymphs cant get back out through the screen, so I have to leave the lid a little open so they can get out. Haven’t noticed that with crickets, though.
