How do you correctly mist?

I usually just take my chameleon out of his cage for a couple minutes everyday to mist his cage. But I read they don't like being handled that much. And if I spray while he's in his cage he gets stressed. What's the best way to mist?

i mist my chams houses with them still inside,i even mist my chams as well,just a light mist over them though,and one hates it ,the other doesnt mind anymore(he used to hate it too) just make sure that the water youare using is hot in the mister and comes out luke warm when it hits the cham,they will get over it and a light misting as mentioned above on your cham gives them a chance to cleanse their eyes as well as aiding in the shedding process..if they dont like it they will move out of the direct spray and hide in their plants,dont worry,it rains on them in their natural habitat too..

I mist when Amber is in her enclosure, sometimes she doesn't like it and moves out of the way , but she also likes to drink when i mist too , i spray really gently so it falls like raindrops and she opens her mouth and drinks. I stand and spray for a 5 mins . hen she doesn't like it or i spray too hard she tries to climb out of the way and across the oof of her enclosure
