How did he do it?

So yesterday I removed Oz from his cage so I could to a little cage maintenance and cleaning. I placed him in a ficus that I had next to the window sill so he could get some warmth from the sun while I change his UVB bulb, clean the bottom of the cage and the drainage pan, install a handle on the lower door of the cage and install a better drip cup system.

So while doing this I would turn around every couple of minutes just to keep an eye on him, there was no way for him to escape from the room I just wanted to watch him every now and then while I was working on his cage. He had moved from the ficus onto the window sill just hanging out in the sun, everything is fine. I have my headphones on listening to my Ipod and about 2 minutes go by so I turn around and he's no longer on the window sill, and he's not in the ficus either. It took me about 15 seconds to find him, he is clinging to the upright section of the oscillating fan. It made me laugh but I went over straight away to turn off the fan. I didn't want him to get his tail caught up in the blades if he decided to climb higher up.

After apprehending him and returning him to his cage I measured the distance from the window sill to the fan which was 15 inches. The distance from the ficus to the fan was roughly 20 inches. I'll be dammed if I know how he did it.

P.S. I have no idea how to rotate the last 2 pictures sorry

yeah they can climb away real quick before you even realize it happened. There quicker then we actually think. Cute little story you had there.

I know some chameleons develop a drop and run technique like no other.

If anything, I've seen my chameleon climb the side of a window sill once. They have thick nails. Look for scratches perhaps?

With your weather that is how you get your chams delivered right? :D

Oh man I wish! A LOT less expensive! But, on the other hand I only have one option for shipping anything live to myself...Alaska Airlines' Animal Express. I don't have to fret over other choices, pros and cons.

My guy climbed up the show door all the way to the top. That's where we found him, just sitting there with a big grin on his face. The door was open about 6". He was faced away from the door edge.

While Sean was building Shooter's new cage, he had climbed off the tree he had him on, walked across the floor and sat himself on the bottom of the computer chair. We've also had a tree in the window and Sinatra has grabbed onto the blind's string as if it were a string, which is hysterical.

i reecently moved my panther "jackson" to a bigger home and while i was doing that i had his pothos plant hanging from the roof with him in it and im movin his thermoiter to his new home and within the time i went from his old cage to his new one with it he was across the floor climbing up my jacksons lighting cord to go say what up i guess or maybe trying to make a meal outta her i dono lol :)
