ok so i bought my gf a nosy be for her bday she loves him to death but i still just cant get her to feed him:(:(...she scaret and a little grossed out with the feeders...how can i get her over it???any one have this problem?

best bet is to take control of her pet,,,and ease her into feeding after which time she just may be able to get into the art of raising a chameleon!!!!

me too

Honestly I too am grossed out by feeders but as time went on and my love for my chams grew it became easier. It takes some time but I would start out with silk worms. Let her hold one since they are not squishy or kinda weird like crickets. They seem to be easier to touch. I still don't touch crickets. lol I use tongs. it will get easier for her.. good luck

That's a tough one but live food is unfortunately a necessity for chameleons. See if she does ok with cup feeding, put some crickets in a cup and bring it close to your Cham showing him the crickets and maybe they can both learn together to cup feed. But until she's comfortable with it you need to make sure that it's getting properly fed with the correct supplements, so you'll have a healthy chameleon. Ive had my nosy be for a few months now and he's so gorgeous with all the blue and orange specks on his face!! Can you post a pic of him?

oh hes getting food and proper supplements im amost always here at her house...i think i will start off with having her hold some silks or horn worms...

I remember not liking super worms now you'll catch me with a handful a year later.

She'll come around lol :)

Cold crickets don't move fast and easy to knock in cup w egg crate pieces , so u really never do touch crickets.

Ship him to me. I'll take care of him....wink...wink. :D I'm a sucker for Nosy Be's. She'll get used to it once she falls in love with him. That won't take long. :p

I hate supers! Heck, I even hate crickets and mealworms, they freak me out! But hornworms are mean! those lil suckers bite me all the time!!!

yeah i know...i tried this morning but it didnt work...:(...im going to try silk worms or horn worms cause they dont look as creepy...lets see how that works..:D

Here's some pics of the little guy..but not really showing much of his blue...he didn't take verry kindly to being pulled out of his cage he's a little quick fello...ill take some more later of him showing some of his blues...he's the awesomest little guy tho...:D:)

Buy her some tweezers and get her used to the bugs buy putting them in the fridge for a minute. Once they are cool and slow have her practice grabbing bugs with a giant pair of 8-12" tongs/tweezers.

hmmm we were talking about that the other day ..like the ones they sell at petsmart right?i think i will invest in some ...oh man lets see if she will let me stick bugs in her fridge...she started chewing me out for cooking up bug burger in one of her bowls in her kitchen..:rolleyes:hhahahaaha..she was mad but got over it...lol...

I still get grossed out by the feeders. But I manage to feed all of mine without having to actually touch them. I think it'll help if you don't help her...that way she has no choice but to try and find her own way.
