How can i stop him from...

climbing on the top of his terrarium, he is always upsidedown and when he gets up there he has such a hard time getting down, sometimes he falls and i dont want him ripping out his nails, is there a way i can get him to stop climbing but not cover up the lights?

no ! well, you could put some kind of other mesh on top he cant really climb...but it seems like they can climb just about anything...and if he really wants to go up there, he'll do it anyways lol...

Don't worry about him getting up there, worry about him getting down. Build some paths down for him and relax, he is going to do what he wants anyway.

He may be cool and might be trying to get warm. What ate the temperatures in his basking spot? Also I agree with Laurie. Try getting some vines to encourage him to go on those

i have two vines cascading from the top for this reason. its all good.

his basking spot is 85 and he has lots of vines, i think if i got anymore it would be a tangled mess lol

ya my veiled chameleon, Delilah does that sometimes... she will climb pretty much everywhere... Like everyone has said just make sure your chameleon has a way down and its all good!

Like Laurie said...they do what ever they want.
Yet in time he might grow out of it.

i would get the basking spot another ten degrees higher, you can raise the branch in the basking area to accomplish this, and provide more branches closer to the top in order to help him down. i had a similar situation and those remedies worked well.
