House Temps...

Only curious on what everybody keeps their house temperatures at, day and night....and what temperatures do their enclosures read when their house is at that temperature.

Only curious because I seem to have to work extra hard to get my enclosure to read good base temperatures and to do so I have to place ice packs on my enclosure at night, close A/C vents, have my home thermostat set for odd temperatures (hotter during the hotter part of the day, 76 when its 100 outside, and colder at night when its cooler outside, 73 when its 84 outside) just to get a good ambient temperature and a colder night in the enclosure.

Figured I'd see what everybody else's home temperature was and since I'm already racking up the electric bill to keep this enclosure "comfortable" comapre and try others temperatures.

Hey there!

At least here on my home we barely touch the thermostat... Most of the day temp is at 78 and at night time we lower it to 75 to 73 depending in the temperature outside, that's about it.... My humidity stays between 60 to high 70's... and basking temp at 88 max... But I do keep my veiled at a glass enclosure for now... Waiting till he gets big get to get a full mesh.

For the most part I don't really change much and leave it at room temp. For the most part the room I have my chams in does get a little hot sometimes but never over 85ish. The temps here in southern cali are all f'd up lately. I normally run a fan on medium during the day when I'm out at work. It's all about getting your roomto be around room temp during the day. So if you have to use cold pack then you have to use cold packs. Ya know! It's actually a little warmer in the early evening over here and the temps don't really drop until midnight-ish. You gotta do what you gotta do my friend. I hope everything goes well bc I know it sucks racking up the electric bill. I blame it on global warming :D

Katy, TX weather is probably as close as it gets to San Antonio weather. 100+ daytime temps and 80's at night with heat index vein 105-110 in the day and 90 at night.

I've finally got my humidity at a comfortable level, so for that I am happy. Its just those dang temperatures. They aren't far off though, guess my nightime temp is my biggest concern. Waldo does have his sleep spot though in the middle of the enclosure towards the lower end. So, atleast he's found his comfort spot for resting. Some areas of the cage at night are 75 degrees and where he sleeps is in the 69 degree range. So he seeks out a colder area to sleep.

If this is working fine with you, then i wouldn't change anything...

Its working, wouldn't say fine, but working. Was just hoping I could keep the house at normal temperatures and still maintain good temps in his cage.
