Hornworm guts stuck to veiled chameleon

So my veiled chameleon ate a hornworm a few weeks ago and she got it's guts stuck to her. I tried getting it off but I don't want to rip off my chameleons skin. I don't know if this can cause bacteria to grow or not. :(

Welcome to the forums. I'd recommend giving your chameleon a nice long warm misting and then take a Q-tip wet with warm water and it should wipe off.

Glad to know my Cham isn't only one who gets into his food. Mine keeps getting cricket legs stuck in folds of hid eye socket.

Funny hornworm story:

My big melleri Mufindi was basking on a plant stand in her favorite sunny window next to my front door. I had just given her a couple of hornworms. Two neighbors I'd invited to come meet my chams arrived right then. I introduced them to Mufindi, expecting the usual comments like "How Beautiful!" Instead they backed away looking disgusted. That's when I noticed Mufindi had a long string of partly dried hornworm guts dangling from her chin.;)
