horizontal pathways in your cages??

what are you guys using for horizontal pathways in you cages??
i was looking at lllreptiles website and the have manzanita and grapewood....

are they about equal or does one work better than the other??? or do you just use vines strung up from side to side???

when using dowels horizontally how do you secure them to the cage????

One great way for securing dowel rods and/or branches from side to side, is with thumbtacks. (not my idea but a great one none the less!) It works tremendously.

Use grape vine wreaths. They are cheap and you can find them at any hobby store. I connect using twist ties or zip ties. I just soak em for a few hrs to make them easier to work with.

I simply go in the front yard and cut limbs from a tree. Sometimes I'll strip the limb of the branches or leave them on, just depends. No, you do not have to bake or bleach your limbs, unless pesticides are used. I simply hose them off, if they are dead branches you want to scrub off the loose bark and let dry in the sun.

Yep this is how I do it too

I cut branches big enough so they are wedged in there snug.

This is a thick branch cut from a ligustrum in our yard.

Some people use hot glue also. When finished you just twist the dowel and it will come off. Then just peel off what is leftover.

Chamelisa has the right idea! Ive also put vine eyes on some of my uprights (my cage is made of wood) that I use cable ties to fix branches to! Just drill a hole though the branch and you're away!
