I use 1 hour clear caulk on small holes so feeders dont get out

Its on the bottom plastic part of the cage, it cause the.water to leak also.

I'd fill that with caulk.

Hot glue sticks and a glue gun work great.

I will say if you go the tape route, make sure there's no way the edges of the tape can pull up. You don't want your chameleon to get duct tape stuck on him. That would be unpleasant.

I just patch screen cages and reptariums with aluminum window screening. I cut a piece of aluminum window screening and sew it on with fishing line
