I need my 2 month old veiled chameleon to get out of his tree so i can put it in his cage and then put him back in there. I don't want to just pick him up and lose his trust. Any Advice?

You can try bringing your hand up from underneath him and gently lift him up. Do not grab him. As you lift a little, with an open palm, he should climb up on your hand. You can also try extending a branch to where he is. Be patient. Let him climb on the branch and then put him where you want him.

i agree with MSMorgan, i usually put i palm out flat underneath my cham and lift my hand up slowly and he will eventually give in and climb on my hand

That's not going to make him mad or anything? Anytime i put my palm out in front of him, he just turns away and goes the other way.

i just put my hand under his mouth sorda and my cham climbs right on but i do have a super super friendly cham. you can try using a stick to have him climb on and move him like that.

No it won't, I have a chameleon that isn't the friendliest ( he often runs away from my hand) but i just slowly put my pointer and middle fingers underneath his chin and slowly lift up. He will eventually put all of his little mittens onto my hand and i slowly pull him away from his cage. I try to do this once a day with him for him to get used to my hands pulling him out. A good way to get him used to ur hands is hand feeding ur cham. Put a mealworm or something ur cham likes on ur hand and have him grab it of your hands. This will teach him that ur hand brings food and food is good so that will kind of give him the idea that your hand is safe, that's how i did it. And remember, ur cham is only 2 months old, their first instinct as babies is to run away from humans. As ur cham gets older he will get more used to ur hand and realize u are safe.

Patience and treats are key. Remember that they do not think the same as we do. They are solitary animals in the wild and everything similar in size or larger than them is a potential threat. Give it some time and don't give up on him. Make a little time each day to work with him. If you get frustrated, or he's not responding, finish your session for the day and pick it up tomorrow. It may take a while.

Yeah that's what i plan to do. Just i needed him out of his cage and he cane out on his own to the other owner of him and then he walked around a bit outside his cage exploring with his tail way up. And then we put him in a plant so i could redo his cage and he didnt want to cone out of the plant and really didn't want to come onto my hand. Eventually i got him in, then started to mess with his dripper (not realizing he was directly under it) and a bunch of water poured onto him. So now im pretty sure he hates me.

aww no im sure he doesnt hate you. I had my cham out yesterday and when i put him back in his sprayer him him right in the face
but he came out today. Also how much time do u spend in the room that your cham is in? the more time you spend with them the more they will know to trust you

If im going to wash my hands before holding, can i just use any kind of soap or does it have to be something that wont harm him in any way?
