HID Lamps?

Are high intensity discharge(HID){MV(Mercury Vapor) MH(Metal Halide) HPS(High Pressure Sodium)} lamps safe for my Veiled Chams terrarium? It's a bit over 4.5 feet tall if worried about intensity.

They are ok. They are pricey though. Just keep an eye on your temps and you can always adjust with a clamp to raise it up if it gets too hot.

They put out a lot of heat and if too close could cause blisters. Try putting your hand under one It has to be usually about 8-10 inches away to not get that "seems really hot" feeling. I've bad experience with them over salt aquariums they kept my 90 gallon tank at a nice 79 degrees and it was only a 400 watt
