Better stick to the Jackson's. I would recommend keeping them in separate cages though. If I were living in Hawaii, I would let them be free and offer food and water so that they would visit my yard. (This is being done in some areas now.)

Veiled chameleons in Hawaii...

"They are invasive and illegal in Hawaii. It is against the law to import, breed, keep as pets, sell, release, or export veiled chameleons. Penalties can include a fine of up to $200,000 and a possible prison sentance."

Welcome to the forum. I like the idea about, getting wild jacksons to come to you for food would be cool. I feed 5 deer about 10 ft from my kitchen window. I love watching them.

:eek:that would be awesome:eek:

There's a lady on one of the islands who has them visit/live in her yard now. She has some fantastic photos and has put out a book about it.

yeah ill just sick with jacksons :D... but how would i go about putting free food out and water do i put crickets and roaches in a jar mist the leaves idk fill me in please :D my jackson in healthy and happy right now i just got done feeding him a butterfly and some roaches :D

You said..."how would i go about putting free food out and water do i put crickets and roaches in a jar mist the leaves idk fill me in please"...I believe the lady offers them crickets and other insects when they come around and that there is a sprayer head set up to spray on the plants/bushes from time to time to provide water for them. I think the chameleons get used to it and come around.

Yeah id just let the darling go. Thank you for saving him! Jacksons are comon in hawii....just care for them in the wild. Let them live in there real enclosure....the great. Hawaii islands.

"Impacts: Veiled chameleons are able to live in a wide range of habitats which poses a threat to Maui's native birds, insects, and vegetation. Fully-grown veiled chameleons may be capable of eating small birds, such as the native 'apapane. Ecologically, they can function like brown tree snakes."

That kind of cracked me up. Imagine you're veiled zapping a small bird with it's tongue, :D
