Jackson's and veileds require different temps and humidity. I would base where you live, relative humidity, summer/winter temps on what would work best for you.
I am piecing together my set up as well before getting my cham. Kudos to you for doing research before buying one.
And welcome, this is one of the most helpful/ unbiased forums I've ever been apart of.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome ,I live in utah so trying to figure out my set up , I have considered panthers I had someone tell me they are not good for first chameleon said they are tougher . What are your opinions? Also like to add we currently have a bearded dragon and a sulcata tortoise named skully had her since hatched she is almost 5 so not are first rodeo lol

Chameleons are a lot harder than other reptiles but if your prepared you'll be fine and my first is a Panther so I wouldn't say much harder plus you get these colours :)

Welcome to the forums. I'll probably get beat up for this, but if you haven't kept chameleons before I would suggest a veiled first, and a panther next. I personally think that contrary to popular belief Jackson's are not a first time cham. Their humidity requirements are harder to maintain, they are more sensitive to the supplements, more sensitive to heat, have a more finicky eating habits, and it's a lot harder to find them captive bred. That being said it's not impossible just not as easy as the for mentioned, and as long as you do your research and stay diligent it's very doable, and well worth the effort they are a great species.
