i have recently got a cham setup 65 gallon mesh with the works looks nice and plantly lol lots of vines and plant branches to climb
i got in there what the guy game the dripper and all basically all u need to have a good enclosure minus the food supplies and vita supplements
i have a strip UVB bulb 5.0 run across the whole top......any othre lights need i can buy let me kno what kind is the best bulb for basking as i kno they dont like it 90 or above ......
also i have in there 1.1 adult jacksons chams
male keeps goin to female and female shakes like sayin no then male gives up is this s sign she is to young and should be kept separate till a little older they try the coop to breed or is she prego and thas why she shakes like sayin no to him.......and she dont move till the night stays still all day.....

any advice for a beginner

You have all of these chams in one cage? SEPARATE IMMEDIATLEY. You should not house your male and female Jacksons together let alone an entirely different species.

Yes, separate them! Honestly, look at it this way - you're a biginner, you're here asking about how to take care of your chams - and you want to jump right in and have them breed? Do you know how much more work that requires? The dangers involved? (You're asking us if she's too young or already "pregnant," these are all things you HAVE to know thoroughly before attempting to breed. Doing it before you know the basics is irresponsible) And then we assume you have a different species in there now with the Jacksons? That's a horrible combination!

Please get all three of them separate cages, at the very least separate the Jackson's from whatever else you have in there TODAY.

no NO no Man all i have is 1 male adult and 1 female adult both are type "jackson"
so just note only 2 chams in there both jackson one male one female

guys said he could not care for them cuz he has to leave for his job a week at a time and stays home a week i work 6 hours a day so i can take care of them more ......he stated he bought pair as adult he had for two months they are a breeding pair been kept together in a 65g mesh with tons of decor....im ordering a new cage for the female today tomorrow when i get pair im broke now and only got money fort food and supplements for my chams and animals .....

he also told me he dont know but she might be prego already she looks lil chubby not much maybe maybe not prego idk he said they been togetherr for 2 months before i got them but wasnt able to watch them to see any hook ups so the gravid part might have happen before i got them

You should definitely get them separated. Regardless if she is gravid (prego) or not she is unreceptive and does not want to breed at the moment. This will cause unneeded stress for her and when she is ready to breed may not be fit enough to produce healthy babies. So get that cage ASAP. In the mean time maybe put some kind of barrier in the middle of the cage or make sure its very well planted so she can get out of the sight of the male.

Jacksons are not the easiest species to begin with but then again that was my first type of cham:) They have special requirements and if met then they should do well for you if they have been in captivity already for 2 months and were kept in a decent manner.

They like it cool and humid. Day time temps will be good between 70 an 80 however I wouldnt let it get over 80 and try to stay about 78 degrees. YOu want the bottom of the cage to be cooler than the top so they can thermoregulate their body temps. Basking site of between 80 and 85 should be good for them. Daytime humidity should be around 70% and very high at night, 90 to 100%. Night time temps should get at least in the lower 60s if not lower than 60. They can handle very cool temps at night and its detrimental to montane species to get this night time drop.

Cages should be very well planted with live plants such as ficus or schefflera (umbrella plants). 5.0 light strip is good for each cage. Depending on how cool the room is they are in will decide what wattage of light bulb to use for basking. We all use regular house bulbs. I would say 40 watts would be sufficient.

You do not want to over feed or over supplement Jacksons. They are very easily over dosed with supplements. I use calcium without phosphorus and D3 1 to 2 times a week for my montane (mountainous) species. If they are housed outside for a good bit of time then you will not need to use calcium with D3 however if they are always inside you will want to use it around 1 time a month. This means you need two types of calcium supplements. I do not use vitamin supplements for my montane species.

Gutloading your feeders is key too. Some recommend supplementing regular calcium every feeding but my gutloads are high in calcium and I also feel the less supplements you give the better for them as long as your gutloading is superb! When you dust with the supplements do it VERY lightly. Here is a good blog on gutloading.

For adults I would feed around 6 appropriate sized feeders every other day. Of course if you use blue bottle flies you can feed more because they are smaller. I would also suggest getting some of these because Jacksons can be very picky eaters. I get mine at mantisplace.com

yep get them seperated it doesnt matter if they are the same species chams dont live togther u will need another setup with all the equipment. Where did u egt them from

Yes, seperate. It is possible sometimes to house jacksons together, but in much larger enclosures than yours. She is shaking to tell him to go away. He can't go away far in a cage that size. In nature she would rock at him and they would both be free to leave the area. Chameleons are very territorial lizards, both males and females, and although they may appear to do fine for a while, odds are extremely high that eventually one will succumb to stress from not being able to get away and be visually isolated (can't see each other) from the other one and will crash and die on you.

i will get this cage asap i understand that .....they where with the guy i did a trade for 2 months not in captivity for two months ...they are captive bred by a Cham breeder idk who though just kno they where never outside always in and indoor enclosure....... i got calcium d3 u talking about.....
will use 1 or 2 times a month then correct
...... i gutload really well, but whats the best products to use to gutload what do u use and they eat crix never has flies and dont wanna try and they get all over my house ....
