Heres what i did to prevent rubbing.

Hello. As many of you know Clea was rubbing her nose and casque on the screen but at first i didnt know exactly where. So im home today because of teachers work day and i was observing Clea and saw that the place she likes to go is really close to the casque so her casque scratching on the screen. SO what i did was cut a piece of a towel and taped it above her little treetop area so her casque doesn't scratch the screen. i taped it down to the screen with heavy duty tape.

Did you check her over for any kind of mites or other reasons she may be rubbing?
Yeah i inspected the whole cage today and couldnt find any other bugs. She hasnt been acting weird and climbing on the screen and all that ever since i changed her cage around but i think shes getting used to it. I try to take her out as much as i can but she needs to get used to the new cage. The other plants are half dead and are outside growing up and then when they do i will cycle the plants around. But where i out the towel above, is where she mostly hangs out and sleeps so i figured maybe that was the reason.

That's a great idea and hopefully the solution. Applying Silvadene cream to the raw areas of the skin will prevent infection. You don't want another problem to occur.

I have been looking everywhere for some silvadene cream and my aunt checked at wlagreens for me because she works there and they don't have any:( I am just putting some neosporin on it and helping her through this and feeding her veggies and fruits along with some crickey crickets:):p

i'm thinking that the silvadene cream is a perscription medication... i got some when i burned my hand at work.... :) lisa

You could just lower the branch that gets her that close to the top. That way bugs can't infest the towel or mold can't go in the towel.... There is most likely a reason she is getting that close to the top.... how high is her cage off the ground?

I cant move the branch because its not a branch. Its the wodden stick that the pothos goes around and the tip of the wooden stick thing, is where she goes to the top. The cage is 2.5 ft from the ground

I have had good luck using just the neo for scrapes. As long as they arent infected it should be ok. If it doesnt show imp then i'd call vet and get a pres. for something stronger. I think you caught it early enough.

Thank you for telling me about the Neosporin. I have been putting it on every day now and we will see. if it doesnt get better by April 2 then i will try to go to the vet.

Thanks. You obviously watch her closely thats the most imp thing with these guys/girls. If you catch these little issues early on it makes things much easier.:) I just cringe when i read about people letting an issue go for weeks without taking any proactive steps to correct it. (Sorry for the rant)

she is prolly too low to the gound.. raise her cage up. and I am sure you can trim that stick or remove it and secure the pothos vines to something else.

the towel ended up falling off so i figured out something to do. I took a fake plant and stuffed it up there so she cant go and rub herself some more and im free ranging her a bit as im on spring break from school
