I just want to inform everyone about what my 4 year old male veiled has gone through. It started as a left pene that would not retract. I noticed that the itgg he Rt half of the vent was clogged and removed debris. I think it was part sperm plug and part molt. Once I pulled everything out of there it was like pulling out a cork. Liquid feces then a long urate poured out of him. He felt so much better but the left pene didn’t retract. So I made a vet appointment. Wouldn’t you know it, on the date of the vet visit it retreated and the vent closed. Still the doc put him on Baytril and liquid calcium ( at my request). Two days later it came out again then he tore it up going over branches. I was soaking him in water with glycerin and once it got cut up I added antibiotic ointment to the nursing and made another appointment. He went downhill fast but I pampered and cared for him till the removal date. We discussed the different options. Lidocaine then cut. There was still a lot of blood flow to the area so the vet was very concerned about stopping the bleeding. A stitch and cortisization? So he thought that may require full anesthesia which I was against. So the put lidocaine then rubber banded it off sent me home with new meds, a pain killer and more Baytril and a different carnivore care n it hasn’t even been 24 hours and my brace boy is making a come back. The part showing is drying up nicely and once it falls off it should retract nicely. So fingers crossed. I am so glad I refused full anesthesia and went with a local instead. Just wanted you all to know the options available. Don’t have a before and after pic on this phone. Here’s what it looks like today and hopefully he will get back to his spunky self. Yelling at my coffee cup, his nemesis, was a good sign today. Lol
