Hello so I purchased a Jackson female about 4 weeks ago and I made sure I went all out for her with a big repti cage I'd say about a foot tall for an adult chameleon although she was small only about 5 months old , anyways i have the cage with carpet, enough climbing trees and vines all arttificial .at first I had a fogger which quickly stopped working then I bought a timed mister which she loved but my poor baby started swelling in the side of her mouth I looked into it and I think it was a temporal gland infection and I took her back to the pet store and they haven't really done much I've been checking up on her and it looks worse it went from being a sore to a dark big infected thing, they said they were putting baytrol on it and I plan on repurchasing her if she gets better but in the mean time I purchased a baby male Jackson which I put in the same cage after thoroughly cleaning it to prevent further infections and he's bitten me 3 times!!!! The little shit is so aggressive and it sucks cuz I wanna handle him but when he bites me I get scared and accidentally swung him into the cage .. Idk what to do because my first chameleon was so good she would even let me pet her all comments will be taken with a lot of consideration and appreciation thank you

typically, chameleons are aggressive animals and should not be handles if it stresses them out. They are a look don't touch pet. Some are friendly but most are nasty. do not try to handle him if he is going to bite you! if you plant to keep him, hand feed him and slowly acclimate him to you.

on another note, you do not "put on" baytril, baytril is either oral or injected. So, are they really doing anything for her or are they just BSing you?

For the female it may sound like a case like mouth rot..pics would of helped ...as for the new one you should give him sometime to relax and get comfortable to his new home ...how old is he...
