Help! What type of chameleon do I have.?

Hi everyone! I have had my cham for almost 4 months now and still can't figure out species I have. Please if you could look at the photos that I uploaded, and maybe tell me what species I have.

The other question I have is that have changed her in South Africa to Fall and my cham hasn't eaten in 7-days. Ok not like she is starving or something she doesn't seem to be interested in the cricks. Her name is Cloui and 2days ago I added another chameleon in a separate cage to my life her name is Zoeye.

I saved Zoeye from a bush fire and I think she might be pregnant but I'm not sure, she has a few burns but she is settling in quite well. still sensitive to touch and doesn't like it when I try to take her out of her tree, but I'm carefully taming her.

Any advice is welcome and I would love to know why Cloui isn't eating and what species they both are.!!! Thanks in advance!

welcome to the forum! I am not sure on the types but they are beautiful. if you also attach a help ( I have copied it for you at the bottom) form we can check out your husbandry and see if we can find out why they aren't eating. There is a lot of experienced keepers on here that can help you. again Welcome!

if you copy and paste this info I am sure someone can help. try to be as specific as possible about the names of supplements as there are a few that sound the same that have very different things in them.


Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

You have a Chamaeleo dilepis or Flap Neck Chameleon.

The green one in the first pic (on your head) is a male and you can tell by the tarsal spurs on his back feet and the larger hemipenal bulge. The one on the grass is a female. I'm not entirely convinced she is gravid but she could be in the early stages.

Chameleon Info:

Chameleon Cloui: Species(I'm not sure), Female('Also don't really know),6-8 Months old. I have had her for about 4 months.

Handling: About 30mins a day depending on activities. Free to roam her cage as well as my room.

Feeding: I am currently feeding her crickets, I don't gut load them but dust them with calcium and D3. I only feed her dusted crickets every third day, and the rest of the time undusted crickets. Feed her three times a day with about 10 crickets each interval.

The brand of dusting is locally produced it is called Reptile Resort. this is the only supplement I use.

Watering: I use a spray bottle and mist her entire tree about two times daily. I also see her drinking regularly.

Fecal: It is very moist first a white bag that is the size of two rice grains and then a bag that is like a white gelatin based type of thing. The fecal bag is about the size of a small thumb. She hasn't been tested for parasites. No local reptile vet.

History: She is from the wild, I caught her on a sand service, was about to drive over her but luckily saw her. stopped and saved her. I fell in love and decided to keep her as a pet.

Cage: It is a wooden cage but replacing it this week with a Screen cage. It is 850mm*500mm*400mm. About the size of a big trash can.

Lighting: A 480mm Base tube from Reptisun U VB 5.0. I leave the light on for about 6 hours.

Temperature: Don't know.

Humidity: Don't know.

Plants: Live plants and it's a Mona Lavender.

Placement of cage. Near a window no traffic and a ceiling fan.

Location : South Africa

Current Problem - She hasn't eaten in the past 7 days.

Handling: No handling to fiesty and scared. Free to roam her cage as well as my room.

Feeding: I am currently feeding her crickets, I don't gut load them but dust them with calcium and D3. I only feed her dusted crickets every third day, and the rest of the time undusted crickets. Feed her three times a day with about 10 crickets each interval.

The brand of dusting is locally produced it is called Reptile Resort. this is the only supplement I use.

History: She is from the wild, saved her from a bush fire. Few burn marks but further in good condition. I think she might be pregnant.

Lighting: A 800mm Base tube from Reptisun U VB 5.0. I leave the light on for about 6 hours.

Temperature: Don't know.

Humidity: Don't know.

Plants: Live plants and it's a LeatherLeef.

Placement of cage. Near a window no traffic and a ceiling fan.
