Keep him well misted with warm water until you take him to the vet. I'm afraid he wont be able to see to eat with both eyes closed.

Ok I jumped through most the post, but who sold you an/or how did you get an 8 day old Panther? Good luck to ya, listen well to those here and hope we all can pull getting this one on the right tract.

You might want to get a smaller cage or use a piece of cardboard and section off one side about 6-8 inches wide.
The lil guy will have a hard time finding food in a 10 gallon.

I agree the cage it too large. Get a plastic rubbermaid storage bins 12" deep and keep him there till about 4 to 6 weeks old then move him to a screened enclosure that is about 20" tall.

that sems like a great way to keep them, if possible could you get some pics up of your 8 day old cham and its cage? cheeers

the vet did not seem to know much, when i looked him up it said reptile expert. however, he seemed to agree with me that he was dehydrated.
today i have seen him drink a bit of water, yet his eyes have remained closed
