Is he eating the crickets when you're not there? Maybe he's just nervous when you watch him? Perhaps you are using crickets that are too small? Have you tried any other feeders like locusts or mealworms yet?

he should be using his entire tongue now. take a couple pics of him. when you see him use his tongue at all, what color is it? does he have problems retracting it? Does it seem swollen? what do his eyes look like?

Hello,
if chameleons continously miss their targets, there is as good asd a guarantee there´s something wrong with him. If i were in your place, i´d take hin to a vet as soon as possible

Yeah, its true, there is clearly something wrong. If you can't tell what the problem is, you will need a vet.

I have one cham that doesnt use her tounge at all. She cant. It has never worked right. Since she came from the breeder. She will aim at something dead on. And her tounge will go up and to the side. Only about a half inch comes out. So we cup feed her. And she is the biggest female you will ever see. But this is not a fixable problem with her. She was born this way.
But in your case it could be a underlying problem causing it. You should go to the vet to be safe.
