Hey guys! I’m an owner of a male panther chameleon but today I ended up getting a veiled chameleon. Only thing is is I’m not sure if it’s a male or a female. I’m leaning more towards female being I don’t see a tarsal spur on the back feet. Can any of you experts help me?

Also note when I got “her or him” they were black with yellow spots. And on a different forum on here that’s saying she could be carrying eggs

The high casque looks male to me as well. I guess I would be surprised, if it was a female, that it would producing eggs right now. I’m not sure their current state of health would allow much egg production
Yes, that also is what I was thinking period that doesn't even surprise me period there was no u v bee bulb in the enclosure, and there was also another.Sold chameleon in there or I would have saved him too period my heart was broke. And I just had to help him period I obviously have his heat bulb and his u.V b bulb and real plants in there with him right now.I also just dusted his crickets and put them in there. He hasn't been black since I got him. (4 hours now)

I hope you are able to turn their life around. They have a long road ahead to getting healthy again. Work on hydration too. They are likely pretty dehydrated as well as malnourished.

I just missed it.His enclosure right after I read what you said period would you suggest me missing more than twice a day?

Poor guy really does look dehydrated. Good on you for rescuing him, Kayla. It’s crazy how many are kept without proper UVB or hydration setups. I had a veiled years ago that bounced back fast once I started regular misting and added a dripper — he used to sit right under it every morning. You’ll probably start seeing better color soon if he’s drinking and eating again.
