help in strengthening bond between me and cham

Hey guys! I just got a 5 month old female veiled chameleon and she doesn't seem to be warming up to me! She has been taking food out of my hand which I have heard that is a sign of trust but every time I try to handle her, she goes black with green spots and climbs right to the top of the viv! If I open the door she will do the exact same thing! She also hisses at me but has never even tried to bite or hit me.

Anyway, I know you can't change the chameleon's personality but I was wondering whether there is a way to strengthen the bond between me and kiki.

I wouldnt worry about her running from you, after all you are 2-300 times her size. You are a predator to her. I did see a post regarding this. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/psychobunny/746-taming-chameleon.html to break it down, start off slowly. using food she likes, hold it in hand,very steadily, let her eat it. do this for as long as it takes.
then move food item up arm, eventually she will climb on ya....
