help!! horworms

i bought some hornworms for my chams a couple days and there groein like crazyy! is there any way i can slow down their growth?

Keep them cool.......but not in the frig.

Yea hornworms get huge. I usually only feed them to my adults.

One tip is to specific in the future to the Vendor that you want the tiniest size hornworms possible so that once you get them, they will still be small and managable in size!
I also specify for tiny size Silkworms too although hornworms still grow rapidly in size compared to silkworms!

If you have a spare insect cup or any container with holes. You can separate them into two groups: one with food and one without. They can last, from my experience, 2-3 days without food. You just have to rotate them. They grow slower that way. You can also put them in a cooler place to slow down their growth.

I too, have found that cooling them off slows hornworm growth. I have a small refrigerator in my chameleon room that runs at 40F. I put my hornworms in that frig at night and take them out in the morning each day. It seems to work . You might even get to stretch it longer in the frig. Try a little experimenting and let us know .
