Help, going out of town

I just found out that I have to go out of town for two days, 3 days after getting my brand new nosy be from kammers. I really don't want to leave him, and the only person I really trust to take care of him will also be out of town. I should have my aquazamp ready to go by then though, and the lights are on timers. So just in case I can't get anyone to feed him. Would he be better off left in his cage with the automated aquazamp and lights, and no food for two days, or should I build a smaller cage and bring him with me, it's a 3 hour drive there and back, but this seems like a lot of stress right after moving to florida from California. My last resort would be to just stay home but I really need to go.

I'm also leaving late at night, maybe I could put in a cup of crickets when he's asleep for him to eat on the fist morning.

As long as you have your lights on timers, and a sufficient source of water (dripper/etc) you should be ok for a two day excursion away from the chammo kiddo. Chameleons in the wild are opportunistic feeders, and although they probably wish they could find 16 items of food a day, i'm sure it just doesn't happen. Just make sure he has water, and when you get back, take advantage of the opportunity and try hand feeding. 2 birds 1 stone. Have a nice trip :D

I forgot to mention that he will only be 3 months old, would he still be fine without food at that age?

From what I have read sometimes it is a week before they eat once you get them anyways. Not that I would count on that, but that is one positive. I would suggest waiting for other more seasoned cham owners to chime in though as I am brand new to this whole thing.

Perfect reason to get an automated misting system from one of the sponsors. Then all you need is a few extra crickets and the 3 day vacation should be no problem at all.

And its super easy to have a friend just throw crickets into a cage every day or so than it is to have them spray a cham several times/daily while your away.

It's good to hear that it's a normal thing for a Cham to go a week without eating, in that case, 2 days without food shouldn't be a problem Whether they're eating or not.

I already have an aquazamp on the way, I should be getting it the same day as my Cham.
