Help!! Chameleon tail black scales.

My chameleon's tail has some scales that recently turned black. It has been this way for about a week and a half. He has been perfectly healthy for his whole life. He can move it fine, its just a strange color.

Reptibreeze X Large cage

90 degree light

Fed calcium every day and d3 twice a month

Diet consists of mostly crickets

I dont believe he got hurt in the tail but it may be a possibility.
