My name is Amanda and my boyfriend and I are the proud new owners of a Veiled Chameleon named Sheldon, we also have 3 Bearded Dragons named Leonard, Penny and Bernadette, 5 dogs Ginger, Annie, Simba, Hopper, and Dixie as well as a 55 gallon aquarium with lots of fish and live plants. I have really enjoyed looking at all of your beautiful set ups and reading all the wonderful information on the site so far and look forward to learning much more from all of you.

Well hello Amanda. Sounds like you like animals.:) I am also an animal person.

Keeping a chameleon with your other pets may be a challenge. All of your dogs need to be kept away from your cham. He will see them as something trying to eat him. The dragons require a lot higher temp than Sheldon does, it can be difficult to keep them in the same room and have both have the correct temp and humidity.

I raised bearded dragons for years, and finally gave up. I just could not have both types of reptiles in the same room. All my beardies went to my sister. Now I have 2 dogs and my chams. I sure miss beardies. They were like puppy dogs to play with.:(

As far as the bottom of the cage goes, the while plastic is better just plain. Any kind of moss or other substrate will breed germs and it is possible he could eat a piece while shooting for food. Also if he shot and got part of his feces, that could be a danger to his health.
