What bulbs do you guys use for your heat lamp? I have a 150 watt dome fixture and I’m going through a bulb every couple months. Any suggestions on longer lasting bulbs?

Most people use a regular incandescent light bulb. Wattage my vary (I think most are 40w-75w depending on need)

How long is a piece of string. I have only changed 1 for turtle in the last year. I changed 2 non halogen in a week

lol ya the ones I get are 1,000 hour. But running the lamp 10 hours a day they don’t last long

I know there are different opions which I respect about using incandescent lights. But I personally have had cheap lights fuse and on a couple of occasions due to power surges explode . So I chose to use toughened halogen lights this one provides heat light and infared light and I personally have never had a problem. I must add not all reptile lights are designed equally. I have had other brands types same wattage that where rubbish at providing my desired temp . Without attaching them to the chameleon lol.
