Don't get to hung up on optimum temps. I try to keep the bottom at room temp ( 68 - 76F) and the basking spot in the high 80's.

Your cham will tell you if the temps are not to his liking . If its too cold , he will be under the basking spot constantly and if the temps are too hot he will be at the bottom of his cage constantly.

Observation is a powerful tool regarding temps, hydration, hunger , and illness.
