HE HATES ME!!! (Jann's baby boy)

Life it not fair, little pepper hates me. He tries to bite and ofter succeeds, when I take him out to free range. Usually I use a stick. He will eat out of my hand but then runs.

Fast forward, my daughter and grandkids are here. Pepper loves Connie, my daughter. She holds out her hand and pepper runs into it. She put him in his tree to free range when she goes near he climbs onto her hand. She can sit and let him run all over her. She had to hold him for me to take pictures.

I have never had a chameleon who actively hates me, what am I doing wrong????

Give him his space, Sam used to be one of the nastiest chameleons, and one thing I learned from his is that he needs his space, he didnt like it when I approached him, so I would leave the door open, let him come out, and then do what I needed, or put him where I wanted to. They don't like to feel cornered. He's nice as can be now, especially in his new 6ft enclosure

Are you wearing the color red everyday? I have noticed that they do not like bright colors. My husband walked in the door and by their free range tree with a red shirt on and all the babies on the tree puffed up and started swaying.

If you are not wearing red then maybe Connie would like to have a chameleon????

Haha, The babies swaying made me laugh out loud. Zephyr hates the colour black. He just looks you up and down and puffs up until you change your shirt and come back into his room, as if to say "how dare you wear black around me"

If he's not afraid of your daughter maybe it's the size thats scaring him. Maybe bending down or sitting when you reach for him will make him less fearful.

that's too funny!!!!! at first i wondered if i might need to paint my nails to help Stanley feel more "at home" but he didn't seem to notice and climbed right onto my outstreatched hand......

I found out my Panther hates hibiscus. I saw him all puffed up and angry and realized it was the hibiscus flower in his cage, it was pink. I took it out and back to normal he went.
