Has anyone tried using Hatch Rite for incubating substrate instead of the usual vermiculite? It sounds like it would simplify the incubation process. I just have a hard time believing the stuff wont completely dry out.

I use it for my geckos and it works great. I have used it before for different types of chams and it is okay, but the longer you have to wait for the eggs, the more I would suggest using vermiculite. If you get the hatch rite right out of the bag, it's great because it is fresh. However, for my first clutch of carpet chams, I split the clutch using vermiculite for one and hatch rite for the other. Both are going strong and I had 3 hatch after only 6 months with the hatch rite. Not saying that the hatch rite caused them to hatch so soon; I'm just saying that the hatch rite lasted that long and is still going strong with the others. Basically, you can use it, but I would just pay attention to it to make sure it doesn't dry out.
