Has anyone used a fish tank heater to heat reservoir for misting??

I am trying to see if anyone has used a fish tank heater to heat up the water before using mistking. If so does that create more chance for bacteria with the heating and cooling with water? Does anyone have another method of heating the water before misting? I am trying to do this on an automatic cycle like have the heater on a timer and turn on 20-30 minutes before each misting time. Any thoughts or methods would be greatly appreciated.

I thought about using a submersible heater at the bottom of a bucket for a diy mister. I never thought about the timer though, I was gonna use the kind that keeps the water at 78 at all times.

I believe the issue you run into is Algae from the water being heated.

Standing hot water does grow bacteria. You should only heat your water right before misting. A member here made a heater from a coffee pot that worked great. I'll see if I can find the old thread for you.

Works just fine so long as you clean your holding tank frequently
