Hand feeding!

Mango finally took a cricket from my hand. I've had her for 2-3 months now and all she does is run away and hiss at me. Every now and then I'll hold a cricket for her but she usually runs away. Last night she hissed, then stopped, starred at the cricket with a lot of interested and finally gave in. I was VERY excited lol. I really enjoy handing feeding so I was upset she wouldn't.

So this is a pointless thread, but everyone I told to irl didn't seem to understand why I was so excited lol :/

Here's a picture of her

Congrats!
It takes a great deal of patience to earn some chameleons trust. Keep working at it and I'm sure she'll come around to being comfortable around you!

Not pointless at all. Members here can appreciate the first time they were able to hand feed their cham! I've had my guy for almost a month and for the first time today, he took a butterworm I was dangling on a stick. Of course my next goal is to have him feed from my hand, but that'll take a little bit more time :D

Very cool! I must be lucky I got my chameleon on Christmas and the first thing I did was hand feed him a mealworm and he ate it the first time. Santa must have not fed him that much lol.

Yay! That is huge!! I have been trying to work with Pickle to accomplish hand feeding. He finally took a hornworm from some tweezers the other day. Hopefully he will take one from my hand soon. It takes lottttttssssss of patience. Way to go, Mango!

That is very cool. We got our veiled a week before Christmas and I have only seen him eat once. Crickets are disappearing but no show yet.

That is awesome! Congrats!! My veiled Oscar is actually very eager to hand feed. He actually constantly tries to eat my hand!
