Habba Mist almost started a fire

Well this morning I woke to a electrically surging noise that wasn't normal. Here the habba mist leaked all over the electrical timer and shorted everything. I am afraid to even see of my bulbs are burned out. They were flashing on and off. So glad my guys are ok though. It scared the the crap out of me. Damn habba mister.

And speaking on lights do the acardia (?) lights need special housing?

Thanks
Amy

That is really scary. So I guess I'll never invest in a Habba. Seems like everyone on this forum despises the Habba. GLAD YOU AND YOU'RE CHAMS ARE OKAY.

i had major fire hazard last week with mist king running down onto power surge. Melted it down to my floor and blew out all the lights fans and everything in the room. Smelt terrible like an electrical fire.

So I think everyone should really take time to check things over every so often because this seems like something that will commonly happen when electricity and water is involved. Glad everything is ok for you .

Its also good to check/rewire your basking lamps every so often. I had one short out because the rubber dry rotted where it is wired and the wires ended up touching.

This is the reason I keep my surge protectors attached to the wall or at least have a "drip loop" like you do with aquariums. We all have a recipe for disaster in our cham rooms.
