I feel that if I feed them quality foods and produce I don't really have to gut load them.
That is exactly what gutloading is.![]()
I use various veggies (arugula, dandelion greens, carrots, bell peppers, butternut squash etc) and also oranges and apples. I also use a food processor to chop up nuts like sunflower seeds. I also give roaches some oats. I sprinkle on top w either repashy super load or Dino fuel (I alternate between the two).
I think that a lot of reptile owners view gut loading as something you do just before feeding. Never made any sense to me. It also doesn't make sense to feed some of the crap they sell in pet shops.
Hell my feeder insects eat better than I do most of the time.

Ok, was just about to ask what Gutloading was in comparison to providing great foods for my feeders at all times. My crickets ALWAYS have fresh foods, veggies, fruits and a powdered gutload mix, not just a few hours before feeding. I don't know that I could give them any better. Is that a good habit?
