Before Xmas I was so excited with my chameleon tinsel. Well I've had another delivery! There are eight legs involved and they are black and white at the moment. I will definatly need help from you guys. I'm super excited but sad as well.:):D

Didn't think you would be long Max.LOL Nope. Cant keep this going very long cause I am going to need advice soon.:)

Is it a new feeder? Or 4 baby dip dyed Sasquatch? :D

Haha. Well hear we go. I have always wanted a nosy be. My local reptile/ fish shop ordered two before Xmas and when they arrived the customer refused them as they were" the wrong colour". Last week when I picked up my bugs the owner asked me if I wanted to see them. I declined as it sometimes upsets me to see them being kept wrongly. He didn't know what he was going to do with them as they were tiny. I went I for my bugs today and asked how they were. He said they were eating and drinking but still very small. I asked how often they were being misted knowing that the shop was closed for several days over Xmas and new year. He said he could only manage once a day! We spoke about their care for a while and he allowed me to take them away till they get bigger. They are soo gorgeous. I don't have room for another two cages so I will enjoy looking after them. They are very active and licking the drips off the screen. I will post pics in a minute as they are on my phone. I suspect that they are for too young to be sold.

How old do you think they are? Pics were taken as soon as i got home and they were cold.

Oh my aren't you kind! Foster mum extraordinaire! It's ok ill help, just send one on the ferry and I promise ill send him back when he's bigger :D

They look about 6-8 weeks old! I think they could be kept together for another couple of weeks maybe?

Wow they do look way to small to be sold. What fun raising them for a while. For me it would just be soooo hard to let them go. But that is what happens with most babies, we raise them and they go to new homes. Enjoy them, and post pictures so I can watch them grow.

As old as that? I thought younger. They will be for sale eventually. When do you think I need to separate them?

I think hatchlings are about 2cm snout to vent and your guys are about 4cm? I'm just guessing age, someone could come along and correct me :) if you keep a close eye on them for any signs of fighting. I think about 3 months they need to be separated.

Thanks everyone. I just hope I can keep them alive. Any tips for looking after babies will be greatly appreciated. Their colour is better now they have warmed up.

Stock up on fruit flies and pinhead crix! They'll consume as much as you throw at 'em! ;)

Use an older UVB bulb (newer bulbs are too strong) and they can prolly get away with room temps, if your house is maintained at 75-78 degrees...

Got tiny locusts and smallish crickets just now. Pinheads coming tomorrow. Have asked shop to get fruit flies but that won't be till next week. They gave me an Arcadia 7% compact which sits on top of screen top. Got them in a 12x12x12 exoterra glass with screen top. It's below freezing here. House maintained at around 70-73.LOL have a small halogen lamp which has taken temp in viv to 78-79. Overnight temps in house is no lower than 60. Thanks for input.:)
