Hello, I'm a new member who is very interested in learning about chameleons. I plan on building their enclosure myself, I am open to suggestions. I plan on buying a Nosy Be Panther, and possibly later on might add a female or build another cage for a Jackson.

I'm from Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, I currently have a male Russian tortoise. In the past I have kept snakes, leopard geckos, anoles, frogs. I also have a 125gal aquarium w/ a small Oscar cichlid. Oh and I have 2 dogs, a blue pitbull and a small yorkie.

I spend most of the summer fishing for the various salmon that make their way up the Kenai river and when I can get out on the Cool Inlet we fish for the sea-run kings, halibut, yellow-eye rockfish, diff codfish, set shrimp pots. For the last 7yrs I've been a truck driver I've hauled equipment from Alaska to New Foundland and everywhere in between and I'm not even 30.

Well, hope that intro wasn't to much of a rant. I hope to learn a great deal from this site and it's members.

I guess I am from the frozen south? That sounds strange, frozen south. But I am in Montans about 30 miles south of Canada. Mytemps on Friday drop to -1f for a high and -24f for a low. I have been into chams for a while and will help with anything I know. We can be cool friends.

Does anyone know how long until I will be able to post in the classified section.
Also I have some questions about panthers. Are they all created equal in terms of hardiness and ease of care, diet so forth

As far as panthers go, yes they are all created equal.

Posting in the classifieds it a combo of number of posts, time on the forum and rep points. Go have a look at other peoples posts, and post responses. That will help.

Welcome to the forums - one of my favorite vacations was an Alaskan cruise I took with my family about 8 years ago. Yes I realize that on a cruise you only see the major ports, but it was a beautiful piece of the country nonetheless. Carlton also lives in SE Alaska I believe, for yet another Alaskan perspective. Good luck on your quest to chameleon ownership, it's a fun road! :D
