Gravid?

I'm still unsure of my Senegals gender tho I've thinking more now that he is really a female. Just in case I'm going to set up a laying bin but I have a few questions. 1) how will I be able to tell when she is gravid aside from pacing the cage? She always paces cuz she's an active little booger so I need other signs. 2) what do you use for laying bins substrate? I've heard playsand is the most packable so would that be ideal? 3) the substrate has to be kept moist so will that constant moisture cause a bacterial or fungal issue? Should I change it often? Thank you for any advice

Hi! This is a great blog by jannb all about laying bins https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/jannb/345-egg-laying-laying-bin.html It's very useful! The only way I can think to sex him/her is to look for a hemipenal bulge at the base of the tale.

Any kind of digging can be a sign....it's possible that she would be just trying to get out but if she hasn't done it before and then she does.......
Usually you will notice the weight gain and often can see egg outlines when she is due to lay.
I change out some of the sandy soil that I use every month or so, and mix it up so it stays moist and loose(ish). That seems to be all that's needed to keep mould at bay
If you can post pictures I'm sure someone will be able to tell you the sex.
