Gravid chameleon...not layig eggs

Hey so this is the first time I have had to deal with my female chameleon becoming gravid and she is laying in the big huge container of sand I have for her in her cage. She first was just laying there not doing anything at all so I dug a little hole for her and she moved into the hole. She has been there in the same spot for two days not doing anything. For a little bit it looked as though she was pushing the eggs out but nothing and she has stopped that and just lays there. Have any ideas as to whats going on or what I could do? Should I call the vet? Or does it take this long?

She sounds as if she may be eggbound and I would take her to a vets ASAP! If she is she will go down hill quite quickly.

How long have you had the egglaying container in her cage?

You said she's been in the same spot for two days...bum down or up?
Have you disturbed her/moved her since she's been there?

Normal egg laying behavior should be like this...
the female wanders around looking for a site...finds a place to dig...digs a couple of test holes or digs in the same hole more than once....digs the hole deep enough that she is satisfied....turns around bum down and lays the eggs...buries them and goes back up into the branches.

The female only will have the urge to dig for a certain length of time...if she passes that time and can't find a suitable place to lay the eggs, she will become eggbound.

Sometimes a female may not be able to lay the eggs even if provided with a suitable place if the husbandry has been poor or if she has a phsyical reason for not being able to lay them (like the eggs are misformed, there is a deformity to the reproductive structures, etc.).

Hey Yeah I took her to the vet like right after I sent that message lol. She got calcium injections and fluids and stayed there for the night. So Im picking her up today no phone calls so I hope all is well. But thanks a lot

K so they did an x ray and thought she had eggs last friday. She has been there for a week and I guess was just constepated. They put her on a bunch of drugs when I took her home yesterday I swear to god she was going to die so I brought her back. They said she is doing well and there is a specialist apprently comming in to see her. She is staying ANOTHER night to be watched. They are feeding her threw a serenge. . . but I havent talked to the vet these are just the girls at the front desk whom I dont think are too bright because when I took her home yesterday I told them she didnt look right but they were just like I dont know so Im sort of pissed about that. So I am going to call tomorrow and hopefully be able to talk to the vet and see what is really going on.

Well I live in Canada Ontario and there are no specialist where I live. There are in Guelph which is a little far. But Cham passed away today =(. I felt so bad she was at the vet the whole week and died there so I didnt even get to see her.
