Got plants for new cage.

So today I stopped by home depot looking for plants to put in the new cage and I ended up getting a nice looking umbrella tree. I got a clay pot and organic soil to put it in when the cage arrives too. I hope he likes it :).

There it is :D!

And, special day, this is my 200th post on the forum, yay me :)!

I wish I could have a free range lol. Too expensive, oh well.

Will this be good for his new cage? its a 48"H x 24"W x 24"D.

yea thats fine.
and the free range i made is not expensive at all. hell its cheaper than a cage.
I have two of those plants, sitting in a laundry basket.
I have a lamp stand i bought from petsmart, to hold up my heat lamp, and a metal lamp to hold my uvb bulb.
and a milk jug is my feeder.

Hm. I'll have to start looking at getting a free range setup after the new cage ships in :p.

Yea i started free ranging Kink cuz I didnt want to pay for a cage. so much cheaper. really is.

I just don't have the room for a free range setup though. Plus I live in a cold but wet area so its hard. I'll try to figure it out though.

How do u guys have a free range? I mean doesn't your cham just disappear?? I'd be so worried, I almost lost Tiger one time and was totally freaking out. They're not full grown so they're not the easiest to track down, especially in a messy house (my wife doesn't enjoy house cleaning very much).

Kink is big enough now that if he wanders off his free range, i can find him fairly easily. i would not have done it when he was younger than 6 months.
Ntm if you give them enough plants, the wont often roam away though some do.
I also have my chams in a cham safe room.
not alot he can climb on, and no chance of escape.
At least nto for kink.
Kermit my hoehnelli, did escape his free range, crawled under a closed door, 20 ft down a hall, past a dog, and a cat. and ended up on my tv wires 24 hours later. i freaked out!!!
so Kermit stays in a cage until hes big enough i can find him easier. (and he cant fit under the door)

I could never leave Jose alone, he's an explorer! He loves to crawl off when I have my back turned when I let him out of his cage to get some fresh air.

Some people even set their free ranges up so the chameleon can't reach anything to get away however if u have a Cham that's a jumper they might take the risk and disappear. After I get another k. Multi. I think I might try my luck with a Jackson's chameleon if I can talk my dad into letting me make a free range. Also seen someone had a pygmy free range with an old card table with like spastic wrap 6" high to keep the little guys from falling of the table.

I just set up a free range for my 2.5 month old panther today using that same plant from loews and another little vine trained up a ladder lol, he seems to be comfortable in it :)
