Gone off his food!

I had to finally stop buying crickets due to their incessant chirping ALL night long! These were escapees in my bedroom! Traps were set, sadly they didn't catch the actual perpetrators!
Anyway, my chameleon seems to be on hunger strike since they've been removed. He usually ate well for me, but hasn't today. He took two medium hoppers yesterday, no problem at all. He's just after shedding a few days ago, not sure if this has any bearing on him not eating. I've provided dubia roaches and waxworms, still wasn't tempted! I've ordered red runners for the first time and silkworms too. All as cricket replacements. Its only one day, maybe I'm premature, in worrying about him!

Anyone else come across this issue? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

PS i think he may just have eaten a dubia roach!

You and your cricket issues crack me up... How old is your chameleon?

1 day off food is nothing. When my male was 9 months old it took me a week to get him to go to dubia from crickets.

Red runners imo are the best cricket replacement. Nothing gets a feeding response like them IME. Lobsters are apparently pretty popular too.

Sorry to be a nuisance. I don't know how old, all i know is hes 5 inches long exc tail. I have him 2 months. Pure guess less than 5 months.

Well hopefully he goes back on food sooner then later since he is young. Your just wanting to make sure the feeders are size appropriate. Offer them every day. He will eventually break down. For some this takes a few days for others it can be a week or so. Their hunger will over ride the fact that they are not sure of the food item.

Just my 2 cents: I did tough love on 17 baby Jackson’s to get them on dubia. Nobody ate for 4 days, and these were less than a month old...like 1 - 2 grams. My male veiled went two weeks last year. Nothing wrong, just being a spoiled brat.
