Hey Forum Family,

Does anyone have a quick fix for getting rid of gnats from my crix cage.. Whenever i feed my crix fruit... i get a bunch of gnats flying around.. I keep the crix indoors..
Any suggestsions?:(:(:(

don't feed fruit would probably help :D Try switching it up for veggies and dry gut load. See if you notice a difference in the gnat issue. If not back to the drawing board.

The cinnamon trick worked for me. Sprinkle the inside of the bin with a little cinnamon. This drives the gnats away, but I am beginning to think my carrots thinks I am flavoring the crickets for him, cause he sure snaps them up for the next week or two!

Could you please describe how you house the crickets.

I keep my crix in a critter holder Large.jpg larger than this one with about 30-40 crix

are you sure its gnats and not fruit flies??
as jack said earlier id try switching up the gutload to veggies and dry goods, like cricket crack....until they are gone and maybe alternate what your doing.....veggies this week, your recipe next week that way its not around long enough to draw any nasty little bugs to it :)
