Well after many delays and disasters Gizzy has finally got her new home. She is already dashing around exploring and is now settling down for bed (18.20pm here). She seems much happier in herself and was eating within 5 minutes of being put into her new home. There is nopw just one drawback - i cannot buy a hibiscus until nearer summertime :( Anybody in England know where i may find one ? Thanks, Sal.

I'm from the UK too, and managed to get a Hibiscus last summer. I tracked one down in a local garden centre, but it was in the houseplants section. Cost me about £6 or £7 and it was only about a foot tall! Unfortunately it had loads of 'bugs' on it so I didn't put it in Lily's enclosure. You may have to wait a few more months yet for them to be 'in season' again! Gizzy's enclosure looks like it could do with a taller, bushier plant for her to hide in. Glad she's enjoying her new home!

What type of enclosure is that? I've never quite seen one like it. Seems like the ventilation would be poor.

Thanks Miss Lily i will keep my eyes open for one and will definitely check it for any bugs/ pesticide first. It`s has lots of ventilation although

Oops sorry for the double post

The enclosure has lots of ventilation although we are going to add a few more vents to the side as there is not as many as we wanted. As it only arrived late last night we have not yet had the chance to make all of the adjustments we want, but Gizzy is very happy with it and new plants have yet to be added when we find the right ones. :)

We did contemplate a screened cage, but were advised that our weather would make it near impossible to retain a good temperature. It is certainly worth thinking about a screened door area in the summer though. :)
