Getting friendlier every day

Just thought i would share. my veiled is about 10 months old i got him back in feb/march and by hand feeding him every day his attitude is getting better and better. He comes to the door of his cage every day now when it's time to eat. He sits and waits. I have fed him every day around the same time since i got him. Now he's to the point where he will climb onto my hand/arm in order to reach the food in my other hand. Today he let me reach in and stroke his chin and he didn't puff up or turn away or give me any fuss. I feel lucky, i see so many people posting about their veiled not being so friendly. I didn't even get him as a baby baby, but i think the consistency with feeding and watering on a routine made all the difference and he trusts me. I took him outside a few days ago his first time EVER being outside and feeling real sun, he did not want to get off my shoulder! I have owned a LOT of exotic animals in my life and he is by far my favorite :)

It's so nice when they finally start coming around. I have a 10 month old Panther, and I think he is finally warming up to me...a little bit.
I love taking them out into the sun too. They unveil some magnificent colors outdoors!

it's nuts because they are right at the age where they get all grumpy. he did turn a funky lime green when i had him outside! i wish my deck was screened in so i could let him free range. i'm going to try and get a hibiscus for the summer so he can sit in that while we are out there. he clamps onto my hair. they make a very impressive headband lol

You can make an outdoor cage out of a ring of 1/4 inch welded wire you can use to encircle a plant. Just make the top and bottom secure. Birds won't get him through the wire.
